KiDi, the current VGMA Artiste of the Year, has admitted that releasing previous tweets that caused him public shame and criticism was a political act.
The ‘Touch It’ singer claims he had no idea where the archived tweets came from until he discovered their source was an NDC account.
KiDi stated on Angel FM’s Yadwumanie show with DJ Ohemaa Woyeje that he doesn’t know what he said or did to cause the problem, but that he is aware that it is not the norm.

“Later when we investigated, we realized that it came from an NDC account…”, he told the host of the show.
Explaining further, the award-winning elaborated, saying, “These NDC boys on Twitter just went back and started searching for people who have said something about Mahama in order to give them pressure to say something about Nana Akufo-Addo as well because when Mahama came you spoke about him but with Akufo-Addo you are silent. To put it bluntly, it was all political.
“Everyone was saying KiDi too has said some silly things previously, so let’s go dig them out,” he claimed. He suspected that the attackers’ intention was to get him to speak out against the current government in the same way that he had spoken out against ex-President John Mahama.
In response to a question about how he is dealing with the situation, he stated, “it has been difficult… I’m not going to exaggerate… “This is hard, and I wish no one else had to go through it,” he said.
