Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, a Ghanaian comedian, has revealed that the police beat the depression out of him.
Remember how Funny Face made headlines in 2021 for all the wrong reasons? Stories about his arrest, trial, and admission to a psychiatric hospital went viral, causing many people to speak out.
After an interview in 2021, the police arrested Funny Face from the Kofi TV studios for threatening to kill his children’s mother. Funny Face’s baby mama refused him access to his children due to his abusive behavior.
Funny Face was then taken to court, but he was later transferred to a psychiatric hospital after the courts discovered he was suffering from depression.
Funny Face reportedly fired gunshots at Kasoa after he was discharged, causing even more havoc in the community. He was arrested and taken to a psychiatric hospital.
Funny Face revealed on the KSM show that the police beat him out of his depression.
“Police in Ghana!” “They are the best when it comes to getting rid of depression,” he told host Kwaku Sintim-Misa.
Funny Face also joked that he had given the IGP a new name as a result of his efforts.
“Shout out to IGP Dampare. I’ve renamed him, if you are mad, it will clear,” he said in Twi.
