The Executive Council of the Church of Pentecost (COP) has called for a nationwide fast and prayer meeting for all COP members to begin on Thursday, November 10.
The circular, seen by 3news, asks members to “pray and plead” for the country and the “world community” and is dated Saturday, November 5.
“We should also pray for wisdom for our leaders to find immediate solutions to these challenges,” said the circular, which was signed by COP Chairman Apostle Eric Nyamekye.
The fasting and prayers will conclude on Sunday, November 13, with the theme: ‘So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He answered our prayer’ (Ezra 8:23).

Regardless, all assemblies have been asked to continue with their regular weekly programs.
“These prayer and fasting sessions may be fused with any existing program scheduled for the week.
“All Area Heads and ministers are to get involved and organize these meetings at any convenient level that will yield the maximum result.”
Despite the hardships, Apostle Nyamekye urged believers to “remain to believe God with the hope that He would react to our prayers and provide comfort to the country.”
To wrap up, he prayed, “May the Lord pour on the church the spirit of the petition, and the burden to stand in the gap and construct a hedge for the country.”
