Sadio Mane is set to miss the World Cup after leaving the game against Werder Bremen after only 20 minutes due to an injury, which head coach Julian Nagelsmann described as a tibia problem.
According to GOAL, Mane had some tests this morning, and the results determined a 3- to 4-weeks initial recovery period.
Senegal’s international player will be subjected to additional testing to determine his recovery time and chances of competing in the World Cup.
Even if it is not yet certain, he will most likely miss the tournament. Bayern Munich has announced that Mane will be unavailable for this weekend’s Bundesliga match against Schalke. Sadio Mane suffered right fibula damage during FC Bayern’s 6:1 victory over Werder Bremen.
“‘Africa’s Footballer of the Year is out for this Saturday’s game against FC Schalke,” according to the statement.
More tests will be performed in the coming days. FC Bayern will share information with the medical department of the Senegalese Football Association.”
