A minority in Parliament has criticized the government for continuously demolishing state structures without rebuilding them.
The group is disappointed that the La General Hospital, which was demolished several years ago, has yet to be rebuilt.
The group also brought up the National Cathedral, which has yet to be built despite the demolition of several state buildings to make way for the project.

“Around this area, Osu-Labadi, we had demolished about 30 houses in the name of building the National Cathedral and have not even been able to lay a foundation,” said Ahmed Ibrahim, Deputy Minority Whip, referring to plans to demolish the Accra International Conference Center for reconstruction.In the same budget, the minister declares that the Accra International Conference Center will be demolished.”
“Within this same vicinity, the minister demolished the La General Hospital, after which there has been no construction. “Why are you only interested in demolishing structures?”
