According to reports, Christian Atsu, a former Chelsea and Newcastle United player, is among the victims reportedly trapped beneath a collapsed building after a massive earthquake struck Turkey.

CornerGist.com reported earlier today that a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria this morning, killing 569 people.

According to reports, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria crushed many families in their sleep. Christian Atsu, a former member of the Black Stars national team, is said to be among the victims trapped as search and rescue efforts begin.

Taner Savut, the club’s sporting director, is also caught up in the effort to free them to continue.
