Nana Sechere, the agent for Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu, remains optimistic that his client will be found 12 days after two earthquakes hit Turkey.
Atsu has been missing since Monday, February 6, when the earthquakes struck.
The former Newcastle United player was reported buried under earthquake rubble at his Hatay base in the early hours after the earthquakes struck, just hours after scoring the winning goal for Hatayspor in a Turkish Super League game against Kasimpasa.

Speaking from the site where Atsu’s apartment stood before the earthquake reduced it to near rubble, Sechere’s hope that Atsu will be found alive remains unwavering.
“We are still looking for Christian Atsu. We know it’s 12 days now. We believe Atsu is alive. We’re still hopeful. We’re trying to find him. There are so many burials. We pray that the corpses that were brought out don’t belong to Atsu” Sechere said according to Haber Global.
Sechere confirmed that he is at the devastated Renaissance Residence with Atsu’s brother and sister, a Portuguese friend, a Turkish friend, and a staff member from Ghana’s Embassy in Turkey.
Atsu played for Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2015 AFCON and was named the tournament’s best player.
Only a week ago, reports circulated that Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu Twasam was trapped under rubble in Turkey after an earthquake.
According to reports, Atsu, who currently plays for the Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor, was on the 9th floor of the collapsed building along with nine other players and two officials.
A few days after it was reported that Christian Atsu had been trapped, a source claimed that the player had been rescued and was rushed to the hospital for treatment due to severe injuries.
Unfortunately, the report about the player’s rescue was false, and Christian Atu has yet to be found, but he is thought to be alive despite spending 9 days under the rubble without food or water.
The situation is clearly becoming very concerning and torturous because no one, including members of the rescue team, has been able to provide us with any detailed information about the player’s whereabouts.
Atsupie, Christian Atsu’s twin sister, confirmed that her brother is still missing and has not been found.
She also confirmed earlier reports that Atu’s room had been discovered after thermal cameras picked up heat signatures indicating that many people were still alive in the wreckage.
Later in the interview, she urged Ghanaians to continue praying for her brother because she believes he is still alive and will be rescued soon.
In yet another twist, a Spiritualist has revealed some heartbreaking details about Black Stars midfielder Christian Atsu.
He claims that the player is no longer among the living. He explained that it is confirmed in the spiritual realm that Atsu’s name has been given to the spirit of death.
The spiritualist expressed his condolences to the player’s family and urged the public to disregard reports that he had been found alive.
He asked Christian Atsu’s family to concentrate on locating the body and burying it if possible.
