Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, the pastor of Resurrection Power New Generation Church, has died.
The sad news that has reached Corner Gist is that the renowned man of God died this afternoon, Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Rev. Boakye was reported to have suffered a stroke in November 2021, leaving him crippled and bedridden.
In an address to the congregation, his wife debunked the rumors, clarifying that her husband was only taking a break from his ministry after 19 years for health reasons.

Sofo Maame Boakye has been in charge of affairs, including the church’s finances, since then, possibly until her husband returns.
But it appears Rev. Boakye was not in good health, as his wife led everyone to believe he had been snatched away by the cold hands of death.
In her stead as the financial controller, the wife of Rev Boakye was caught in a controversy in August 2022 after a CCTV footage captured her slapping a church elder in a dispute over offertory.
The surveillance footage that went viral showed the moment Mrs Boakye landed a hefty slap on the face of one of the hierarchies of the church in the financial control room.
This was despite Rev. Anthony Boakye’s audio message to the church’s elders in May 2022, warning them not to let his wife handle the church’s finances.
In the audio message, the renowned man of God directed that his wife be removed from the church’s finance department after learning that her attitude had changed since he became ill and she became involved with the church’s finances.
He stated that his wife should stay focused on her role as Sofo Maame and her wife’s duties and not get involved in church finances.
Sofo Maame Boakye appears to have ignored her husband’s instructions, as the viral video depicts her little-known attitude in church.
