After a military man was killed by unknown people, the Ghana Armed Forces revealed the reason for their invasion of Ashaiman.
In the early hours of yesterday, some military men invaded Ashaiman after one of their own was allegedly killed by unknown individuals. Some video footage of soldiers brutalizing Ashaiman residents was circulated online.
In a press statement issued by the Ghana Armed Forces and signed by the Director General, Brigadier General E Aggrey-Quarshie, he stated that the mission in town was to find the perpetrators of the heinous crime rather than avenge their colleague’s death.
The Military High Command authorized the military operation, according to the statement. In addition, the GAF revealed that following their operations in Ashaiman-Taifa and Tulaku, 184 suspects aged 21 to 47 were handed over to the Military Police and then sent to the police station for screening.
According to the statement, approximately 29 slabs and 57 mini slabs of suspected Indian hemp and amnesia, as well as other types of hard drugs, were seized.
