The sex worker claimed that after she traded her body for N120,000, the defendant defrauded her.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo Command, has charged a man named Samuel Oni with defrauding a sex worker, Blessing Olaitan, of N120,000 before a Magistrate’s Court in Akure, the state capital.
During the trial, Olaitan stated that she was a professional sex worker and that after having sex with her, the defendant collected N80,000 from her with the promise of transferring the money, along with her N15,000 fee, to her account.
According to the sex worker, she later received a fake credit alert from Oni, who was charged with conspiracy and theft on two counts.
That you, Samuel Oni, and others at large conspired with yourselves to commit a criminal offense in March 2023, at Alagbaka, Akure, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, to steal a sum of one hundred and twenty thousand naira from Mrs Blessing Olaitan, thereby committing an offense contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 37, Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
“That you, Samuel Oni, did steal a sum of one hundred and twenty thousand naira from Mrs Blessing Olaitan on March 1, 2023, at Alagbaka, Akure, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, thereby committing an offense contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. 37, Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State, 2006,” the charge sheet read.
Following the defendant’s plea of not guilty, Magistrate Tope Aladejana granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in the same sum, adjourning the case until Monday, April 17, 2023.
