According to Daily Guide, Imoro Sherrif, a 22-year-old soldier murdered in Taifa, an Ashaiman suburb in the Greater Accra Region, was killed by an iPhone 6.
According to Daily Guide, the two main suspects allegedly killed a soldier attached to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band in Sunyani in order to steal his iPhone.
After he struggled and attempted to fight back, one of the attackers allegedly stabbed him.
The young soldier was left to his fate in a pool of blood until he died, while the suspects took the broken iPhone 6 and fled the scene.
Police announced on March 11, 2023, that they had apprehended the two main suspects in the heinous crime.
They are getting ready for court.
However, the police have detained four more suspects in connection with the crime and are assisting them in their investigations.
The four were individuals who bought the phone in town and then sold it to one another.
Police were able to locate and retrieve the iPhone to aid in investigations and prosecution.
According to the source, the phone was discovered on a driver near the Ashaiman overpass early Sunday morning.
The suspects are currently being interrogated at the Police Headquarters in Accra in the presence of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who has shown a keen interest in the case by spending the night in Ashaiman on the day the prime suspects were apprehended.
Imoro Sherrif was laid to rest on March 9 at Accra’s Military Cemetery Burma Camp.
